Some Nigerians have expressed their displeasure over different bottle-necks that they have to go through in America embassy when applying for an American visa.
An investigation by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja at the US embassy showed that they go through very stressful procedures in other to get the visa.
Mr Tunde Adekule a visa applicant at the embassy told NAN that getting the visa is not the problem but it is after going through stress and later getting rejected.
“It would be good if the U.S. authorities at the embassy become more flexible in their work in other to create a more stress free application when applying for visas,“he said.
Miss Amaka Agwu, a secondary school certificate holder applying for a student visa complained about the crowd in front of the entrance to the embassy that increases stress and competition.
She advised that the embassy should make provision for applicant in other to control the crowd at the entrance of the embassy, rather than making them stand under the scorching sun.
Mr Tony James expressed his fear about the growing crowd of applicant everyday at the embassy wanting to leave the country for greener pasture.
He added that the government should intervene in the economy in other to reduce the growing number of migration in the country.
NAN reports that the application for the U.S. visa is one of the most demanded visas in the world.
Some officials of the embassy said the rush is usually controlled but sometimes we receive more applicants.
NAN also learnt that some applicants uses the services of touts who promise to secure a free space passage for them to make it easier in getting the visas.
Also speaking, some security officials spoken to say there is method of crowd control put in place but some Nigerians and applicants do not want to follow procedure which sometimes results in overcrowding.
According to them, some people people want to show they are important than others and attempt to jump the queue.
NAN reports that no fewer than 300 visas applicants visit the embassy on a daily basis, while more than 200 people visits to seek for information or assistance daily. (NAN)
