The aged long mutual relationship between Nigeria and Ghana has again been strengthened with the resolve by both Countries to track down the movement of Arms and Ammunition, Transnational Criminals, Trafficking in persons and Cyber Crime amongst others.
The Minister of Interior, Lt General Abdulrahman Bello Dambazau (Rtd), made the suggestion when he played host to Mr Williams Azumah Awinador, the Ambassador of Ghana to Nigeria, stating that if agreed upon , it will boost national security.
The minister assured the Ghanaian Ambassador of Nigeria’s willingness to also share ideals on finding lasting solutions to Pastoralist/ Farmers conflict which is now a regional security concern.
Responding, the Ghanaian envoy recounted the aged long beneficial ties between his Country and Nigeria.
While noting the numerous similarities in culture, religion and tradition between both Countries, the envoy acknowledged that Ghana is also contending with herdsmen/farmers crisis.
He therefore sought for deepening of ties between both States to tackle common security challenges.
His Excellency, Ambassador Williams further stated that hence herdsmen/farmers conflict has assumed a regional dimension, there is need to adopt a sustainable regional solution to end the crisis.
