It was gathered that the envoy was kidnapped on yesterday morning on his way to Kaduna to attend the graduation ceremony of Senior Course at the Armed Forces Command and Staff College (AFCSC), Jaji, near Kaduna State.
The Sierra-Leonean Deputy Ambassador to Nigeria, Maj-Gen. Nelson Williams (Rtd) was reportedly kidnapped along Abuja-Kaduna Express Way, yesterday.
It was gathered that the envoy was kidnapped on yesterday morning on his way to Kaduna to attend the graduation ceremony of Senior Course at the Armed Forces Command and Staff College (AFCSC), Jaji, near Kaduna State.
The Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, was special guest at the graduation ceremony in Jaji.
The Senior Course of the military institution is an annual event, which marks the end of a 12 months training for the senior cadre of the officers drawn from the armed forces, ECOWAS countries, among them, Sierra-Leone.
As at the time of filing this report, the Kaduna State Command was yet to confirm the incident as a call put to the cell phone of the Kaduna Police Public Relations Officer, Abubakar Zubairu, was not returned at about 5:17pm.
At the Police Command, none of the officers and other ranks volunteered information in respect of the kidnap of the deputy ambassador.
A text message sent to the PPRO’s mobile telephone at 5:21pm was not replied either.
