The Governor of Kogi State governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, has condemned the assassination of the Chairman, Kogi Chapter of Wuro Miyetti-Allah Association, Alhaji Ibrahim Abubakar.

The governor in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Petra Akinti Onyegbule, condemned the killing, which he described as condemnable by all lovers of peace.

The governor appealed that the prevailing calm in the state should be sustained despite the unfortunate crime, and strongly discouraged extrajudicial reaction from any quarters.

“I received with sadness, the death of Alhaji Ibrahim Abubakar Jalindo. On behalf of government and good people of Kogi State I offer my condolence and pray Allah to grant him aljanah Fidau.”

According to the governor, it is important that crime does not go unpunished – in order to send a resounding message to all and sundry that such will not be tolerated in the state under his watch.
