There was little drama at the National Agency for Food and Drugs Administration and Control(NAFDAC), yesterday, when some of the agency’s aggrieved workers, locked up its headquarters in Abuja, while forbidding others to work.

It was learnt that, continued protests by the workers, had been on for the past two weeks, which had also climaxed in shutting down of the agency’s premises.

The Acting Director-General of the Agency, Mrs Yetunde Oni also met some resistance from gaining entrance till about 11am, after she called up the police.

An anonymous staff explained that the Acting DG. had been indifferent to the plight of workers.

“It was a perfect plot to embarrass her (Oni) following her insensitivity to our welfare,” he said.

“She thought she was smarter. She promptly called the police who came and rescued her. They opened the gate we had locked up and cordoned off our office. But, she should know that is not the solution. She should expect worse action from us if she fails to change and listen to our cry.”
