Kaduna State Governor, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai has finally lifted the curfew on two Local Government Areas in the Southern part of the State.
The two Local Government Areas are Jema’a and Kaura.
The curfew in Zangon Kataf Local Government Area was earlier suspended.
This is coming barely two weeks after the Nigerian Army launched of military operation code-named ‘Harbin Kunama II,’ to flush out criminal elements in Southern Kaduna.
The Governor’s spokesman, Samuel Aruwan said the lifting of the curfew imposed on the two LGs in December 2016 and in early this year, following renewed crisis, was based on the outcome of the Kaduna State Security Council.
After the meeting with security chiefs in the state, the governor announced the lifting of the curfew in Jema’a and Kaura local government areas, following its weekly meeting.
