In a statement released, Egypt’s civil aviation ministry has disclosed that a criminal investigation would now commence into the crash of the Airbus A320.
On the 19 of May, the aircraft, Flight MS804 that flew from Paris to Cairo fell into the sea, with all 66 passengers on board losing their lives.
Media reports gathered state that no distress call was made prior to the accident, however the cockpit voice recorder showed the pilots had fought to put out a fire.
Also, automated electronic messages emitted by the plane showed smoke detectors going off in a toilet and in the avionics space beneath the cockpit, some minutes before the plane disappeared. The retrieved wreckage of the plane also revealed damage as a result of high temperature and there was soot on the jet’s front section.
