Four persons yesterday died in an auto accident that occurred along Irapene area of Okene – Lokoja high way of Kogi State.
The accident which occurred around 9:30 am yesterday involved a small Passat vehicle and Siena, also left five other passengers wounded including a motorcyclist.
The passat with registration number, LKJ 134 AA was coming from Lokoja to Okene while the Siena with inscription Blessed Coal City was heading to Abuja from Lagos carrying JAMB materials.
Vanguard reporter who arrived the scene of the accident some minutes latter gathered from one of the survivors that the Passat car had a burst tyre, lost control and swerved to the other side of the road.
The swerved car first hit the motorcyclist before having a head on collusion with the Siena bus travelling from Lagos to Abuja, he said.
While all the four passengers of the Siena bus sustained serious injury, all the occupants of the Passat car were unlucky as they all died right on the spot.
Passersby and sympathisers who gathered around the vehicle could only pull out two of the dead bodies as the other two were stuck in the destroyed car.
However, a police patrol Hilux vehicle arrived the scene 30 minutes latter to help the wounded passengers to Lokoja, the state capital.
