The immediate past Minister of environment, Mrs. Laurentia Laraba Mallam and her 73 year-old husband, Mr Pius Mallam on Wednesday regained freedom.

Mrs. Mallam who was appointed Minister in Marsh 2014 by former President Goodluck Jonathan was abducted Monday night along Jere road in Kagarko local government area of Kaduna State.

The former minister regains freedom less than 60 hours after their abduction.

A family source told our correspondent that the duo were released unhurt.

“Mummy and Daddy regained freedom at about 7pm Wednesday, we thank God for their freedom, they are now resting in an disclosed residence” he said.

Another source closed to the family said the family have to “pay the N10m demanded by the kidnappers without any discount before they were set free.”

When contacted, the spokesman of the Kaduna Police Command, ASP Aliyu Usman seek for time to confirm and get back to our correspondent.
