The Niger State Police Command on Friday said it had arrested one Hassan Musa and Salihu Isah Balau of Gurara Local Government Area for robbery.

The suspects were reportedly trailed and arrested by the command’s Special Anti-Robbery Squad.

The police spokesperson, Bala Elkana, said the suspects were believed to be members of a notorious gang terrorising the Lambata area of the city and its environs.

He said the operatives recovered one locally-made pistol with four cartridges, including some charms.

The anti-robbery squad also arrested one Babangida Bala from the same local council for stealing two cows.

Elkana said, “There is no hiding place for bandits in the state. We cannot allow armed robbers and other criminals to take over the state.

“We appeal to members of the public to give us information that would assist us in carrying out our duties in a well dignified manner.”
