OLEH—POLICE in Delta State have arrested a woman and his 22-year-old son at Ukpude-Aviara, Isoko South Local Government Area, in connection with the murder of 26-year-old, Mr. Dennis Omoefe, member of the community’s vigilante team.

Omoefe was reportedly stabbed to death, weekend, following an argument over the arrest and interrogation of three suspected bandits, who were alleged to have stolen the community’s solar lights and batteries, by the vigilante members.

The woman’s son, Innocent, it was gathered, had sympathies for one of the suspects and was reportedly angry with the deceased, who was among those that  carried out the interrogation.

Police Public Relations Officer of the state command, Mr. Andrew Aniamaka, while confirming the arrests, said: “In the process, an argument ensued and he (Innocent) threatened to deal with Dennis.

“When Dennis got home, he found that his door had been locked with a padlock, while his wife reportedly told him that it was Innocent’s mother that locked the door.

“But in a bid to force the door open, Innocent came and stabbed him with a sword.

“Dennis was immediately rushed to a hospital, where he later died because he lost a lot of blood. Innocent and his mother have been arrested.”
