Oleh community in Isoko South was thrown into shock as suspected cult group killed a 15-year-old boy identified as Victory Efemena.
Efemena, a secondary school student, was shot dead along Urusewe Street in Oleh, Delta State.
An eyewitness, who spoke with Southern City News, said the trigger-happy boys (cultists) chased Efemena, who ran into a provision store located in Urusewe Street and shot him at the back.
The victim was said to have died before he was rushed to a hospital.
Another eyewitness, who simply identified himself as Ochuko, said, “The incident happened around 10pm. Before we knew it, the late Victory’s friends and sympathisers were all over the place looking for the killers.
“We ran for our safety while the town was taken over by cult boys, who started shooting sporadically.”
Investigation revealed that the late Victory was an apprentice in one of the community’s hair salons in Oleh.
When contacted via the telephone, the state Police Public Relation Officer, Mr. Andrew Aniamaka, said he had not been briefed by the Divisional Police Officer in the area, where the incident occurred.
