The Delta State Police Command yesterday said it recovered three bodies, believed to be among those that drowned on Friday.
Four persons, comprising three women and a man heading to Kurutie in Warri South-West Local Government Area, for the funeral of Chief Thomas Ekpemupolo, father of ex-militant leader Chief Government Ekpemupolo, died in a boat mishap.
The police command confirmed there was a boat mishap in which 11 victims were rescued alive.
But it could not confirm any death, as there was no manifest to know the number of passengers aboard.
In a brief message last night, police spokesperson Celestina Kalu, a Superintendent (SP) confirmed that three bodies were recovered at 5 pm through an effort by a marine police team and residents, near the Miller Waterfront in Warri.
She said the bodies were identified by the families and deposited at the Warri Central Hospital’s morgue.
